In a world that often fails to see suffering, there are some champions who emerge to speak for and act on behalf of the voiceless - particularly children who are living in poor, neglected and dangerous settings. Children who, despite having potential and hope for a fruitful life, continue to struggle with inadequate food, education, health care and safety. Silence is no longer the only response; strong voices and strong hands have stepped forward to protect and to ignite hopes. Real Heroes for Real Children Mr. Ishmael Ogweno is one of these champions, working through the Blue Cross Society, which is widely known for its innovative work with children and youth who are affected by substance abuse and poverty within the context of Kenya.
