Amid a significant escalation of tensions in the region, the U.S. warships and military assets are heading to Middle East , while  President Donald Trump has demanded an evacuation of Tehran in light of fears of a larger war between Israel and Iran.

The U.S. Navy confirmed that the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier and a support strike group had redirected course toward the Persian Gulf. However, Pentagon officials stated the redeployment is purely defensive to protect U.S. assets, troops, and allies in the region against Iranian missile strikes, which have escalated in frequency from Israel's southern neighbor. U.S. officials also have placed additional air defense assets across the Gulf, including Patriot missile batteries and THAAD interceptors.

Simultaneously, Trump was warning citizens to "immediate evacuate Tehran" on the way back Washington after departing the G7 summit in Italy and now amid intelligence that the situation could escalation and raised concerns of Iran's nuclear capabilities. The Guardian reported:

"Iran cannot, and must not have a nuclear weapon. I advise to immediate evacuate of Tehran for the safety of all. We can not wait for a red line to be crossed again."

Trump's comments have sent waves around the globe, and has raised concern to foreign diplomats and humanitarian organizations. Several countries including France, Germany, India, and Russia, have already begun to order all of their citizen's out of Iran and have begun to partially close their embassies or withdraw personnel as they prepare for what they consider comes next.
