Youth4Climate 2025: Global and Brazilian Youth Unite Ahead of Pre-COP30 in Brazil

Brazil, October 7, 2025. More than 150 young climate leaders from all around the globe, including Brazil, will be arriving in Brazil for the Youth4Climate Flagship Event 2025, to be held from October 12 to 14, alongside the Pre-COP30 discussions.

This event is coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and UNDP Rome Centre for Climate Action and Energy Transition, designed to showcase and encourage young people climate solutions and youth and elderly cooperation on climate change. We expect to see Vannia Gava, Italy’s Vice Minister for Environment and Energy Security, which shows Italy’s continued support for the climate change youth advocates.

Youth4Climate has continued to expand from its original model during Pre-COP26 in Milan (2021) and is now mobilising more than 30,000 and inspiring hundreds of community initiatives on a global scale. For now, the flagship event is designed to be a Pre-COP night celebration. We will issue calls for inclusive climate action as we lead into COP30.

Youth4Climate will represent the Action Agenda Activation Group for COP30 and is set to release its latest work, Solutions Catalogue: 100 Projects – From Ideas to Impact. This work illustrates the climate change initiatives youth have already begun implementing in their communities around the world.

The focus areas for this year’s call for solutions include sustainable energy, sustainable agriculture and food systems, climate & health, digital innovation for resilience, nature-based solutions for climate action, and peace & security. Each awardee will be granted an amount of up to USD 30,000.

The Brasília programme will include pitch panels, workshops (storytelling, design thinking), and dedicated sessions around climate justice, Indigenous youth leadership, and ethical stocktaking all of which seek to connect thinking with action.

Youth4Climate, co-led by Italy and UNDP, is based on the principle that young people should be heard, and that they should also be given the necessary tools, connections, and institutional backing to adjust climate action and policy.
